Saint Edward State Park — Sunday, May. 28, 2017

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Saint Edward State Park by HeatherD
In my effort to avoid Memorial weekend crowds and traffic, I opted for a hike close to home early this morning. Although the State Park website notes opening at 8:00 am, I arrived at 6:30 am and the gate was open and staff were out and about working. I parked nearest to the kids play area and started my walk. I completed the orchard loop, walked the paved seminary path, took the grotto trail down to the water and the North trail back up from the beach. The grotto and North trails were lush and green and they almost made me forget this was an urban hike. The trails were in excellent shape (no mud).
