This is more of a "road to trail head report" than a trail report. Snow on the road about 3 miles from the trailhead proved too much for my 2006 honda civic. Though I think a high clearance vehicle could have made it. we could see a subaru made it a little further but was stopped by something. There were a couple cars parked where we stopped, I assume they hiked in the extra few miles and I'm sure they were rewarded for it because it was beautiful today. We chose not to though since we got a late start.
Road up to this point was not too terrible. definitely some serious pothole maneuvering required though.
