I hiked up on Saturday morning and planned to camp overnight at Tunnel Falls with 2 others. A ranger was checking in with every hiker about a trail closure at 5 miles due to a wildfire. Take note! You cannot hike to tunnel falls currently.
The trail was rough but fairly flat- this is a very easy hike. The scenery is gorgeous, and there are lots of opportunities to take a dip in the creek. The elevation is low, and it was great weather to sleep in the hammock.
Cons: The most crowded trail I have ever encountered. It's massively popular (close to PDX, easy day hike, beautiful views and swimming) so take note. I know it was crowded from the trip reports but I guess it didn't really register. We're talking walking behind someone for 2 miles, people passing every 20-30 seconds. It's not the hike for a solitude seeker.
