North Cascades > North Cascades Highway - Hwy 20

This trail is a gentle grade and quite easy to hike.  There is one small section at the beginning where, as the hike description describes, is the old creek bed.  The rocks are pretty small and this sections is quite short.  The rest of the trail is smooth with minor rocks here and there.  It's nice that the majority of the climb is in the shade, but towards the top, there are a few scattered open, dusty areas, on the trail.  Views at the top a beautiful.  Hang onto the doggies and watch the kids since there's a cliff face at the overlook.  Stayed at the Colonial Creek Campground  - accross the highway which is a nice campground.  Can't wait to come back.
