Truly enchanted! Took this on as a day hike after not getting a permit. Drove 2 cars up to Leavenworth, dropped one at Snow Lakes th and started at Colchuck around 5:45. Got to Colchuck Lake around 7:30 and up Asgard by 9:40. Asgard is super rough and sort of a scramble, but I would rather have one super steep section then start at Snow Lakes and have it be uphill all the way. Once we conquered the pass, we were in the Core and had AMAZING views of goats, lakes, jagged peaks, creeks, everything!! Throughout the trail, there are a few sketchy parts where you're on your hands and knees and stretching your legs out just to reach the next solid ground, but it's doable! Once you get to Snow Lakes, you have about 7 miles of nothing, except for Nada Lake which isn't much compared to the rest of the hike. That last stretch was purely downhill and our feet were dying to say the least, but we made it! Hit the Snow Lakes th around 4:30 and drove back to Colchuck to pick up the other car. Highly reccommend doing this trail!
