Pratt Connector to Pratt River Trail — Saturday, Sep. 30, 2017

Snoqualmie Region
Ribbon Cutting

Today was National Public Lands Day and several volunteer groups were out in force to provide support for local trail maintenance.

Groups from the US Forest Service, Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, Backcountry Horsemen, Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance and Washington Trails Association all had volunteer crews out to do work on the trails in the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River.

Despite the rain, several dozen volunteers worked on the trails in and around the Middle Fork Trailhead.  The WTA crew of 30 included hats of various colors, and we conducted annual trail maintenance and basic tread repair on a stretch of the Pratt River Trail.

The trail work finished around 1pm with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the junction of the Pratt River Connector and the main bridge crossing the Snoqualmie River. The various organizations were recognized for their work on the trails in the area.

The rain was persistent all day, however the weather cleared for the volunteer appreciation reception hosted by REI which included food and beverage from local establishments.  Hats off to the No Boat Brewing Company for providing some tasty cold beer to the volunteers after a day of trail work.

Thanks to all for coming out to support this multi-agency effort for the trails in the Middle Fork.

Happy Trails....SWIG
