Cat's Log, traildate 03.17.2018. The Enterprise is docked for a baryon sweep, so I thought I'd use the opportunity to get some fresh air.
Beverly mentioned a lake she used to visit while at the Academy and with favorable weather reports I thought it would be the perfect quick get-away.
Having stayed up far to late the night before rearranging my crew-mates belongings I got a rather late start. After a rather rough flight, I set down at the trailhead arriving at approximately 10:00 hours. The staging area was filled with shuttlecraft flowing well beyond the landing site.
Starting off at a brisk pace, I quickly found myself wishing I had come better prepared. The streams crossing the path were not to the liking of my uncovered feet! Thankfully my fellow travelers were quick to offer assistance in the form of a much appreciated lift. The trees in this area were especially nice; I found several which offered pleasing tactile feedback.
Roughly 3km in (2mi) the trail became increasingly snow covered. Once wooden bridges were almost unrecognizable. Those without traction devices found themselves wanting for friction. Thankfully I'm quite adept at slippery surfaces having practiced on my quarter's hardwood flooring.
The lake was beautiful! Mountains behind, covered in snow. Overcast, but high enough to allow wonderful views.
All in all, a satisfying day! My tricorder indicated 10.38km (6.45mi) and 381m (1250ft) elevation gain round trip. A bit off from the computer's records, I'll have to have Geordi check the calibration.

In my mind, there are way more Jean-Luc Piccat trip reports on WTA. I dug them up today and can't believe there are only two. They clearly made a big impression! Hope Jean-Luc is doing well and continuing to go on adventures. <3
