Mrs. Geezerhiker and I beat the Memorial Day weekend crowds. We had a wonderful overnight hike to Anderson Point on Baker Lake. The weather was great, the campers were friendly, and the views are fabulous.
Our neighboring camper came via canoe. He was spending a week on the lake, and he had enough stuff to do just that.
The trail is very good. There is a new bridge across the first big creek, there are bear lockers for each campsite, and there are two nice vault toilets. This was upgraded camping that was much appreciated, and you do not need a permit!
There is a magnificent waterfall across from the spillway on Baker Dam. You are not permitted to stop or park on the dam. Park on either side and walk to the middle of the dam for an incredible view.
As expected, the traffic headed toward the lake on Hwy 20 was heavy, while the return route was light for our trip home. We planned our adventure just right.

Thank you for a great informational trip report! Is the Anderson Point campsite 1.8 miles from the southern parking lot, or the northern parking?

Anderson Point is near the Southern end of the lake. As you near the lake on Baker Lake Road, there is a conspicuous sign indicating Baker Dam is one mile to the right. Drive across the dam (be sure to see the amazing waterfall), and go left on the unpaved road for about two miles to the signed trailhead.
Happy Camping,

Would you recommend hiking from the Northern or Southern end of the lake for a day hike?
