Trip Report

Davis Peak — Sunday, May. 27, 2018

Snoqualmie Region > Cle Elum Area

As noted in the last trip report SR903 is open, so you can access the parking lot closer to the trailhead When you park the trail is just past the parking lot and is well signed, don't make my mistake of checking out the quad track that you drive past on the way in (better description of the lots in 10/28/17 trip report). I made the mistake of thinking the quad trail was the Davis Peak trail, fortunately I figured it out pretty quickly.

Incredible hike with a few, easily navigable blow downs. There was still a little bit of snow once you get to about 5000' but I didn't need to use the microspikes I had with me. I did stop short of the summit (had another 300' of elevation to go) as I was by myself and the snow up top was a little too intimidating and I wasn't comfortable on the loose rock. Still worth the trip and absolutely incredible views from up top.

Saw a family of deer taking a rest as well as a marmot.

Don't make my mistake and misread the trip report, there isn't a fire lookout there just used to be one at this location.
