Hoping to escape the Mt Si and mailbox madness while still getting outside on a close by snow free trail, I chose Mount Washington. I did my best to run / fast hike, which posed some difficulty due to the fact that this trail is full of ankle busting sized rocks. It’s not a trail I’ll likely return to due to this fact. Trail was snow free except one tiny patch you could walk over in flip flops. The views were OK for me, likely better on a clearer day. Despite the not so great parts it still offered a great workout and way to be outdoors early in the spring without worrying about snow. Make sure to turn left off the John Wayne trail near the rock cairn. There’s another small trail before the Mt WA trail that does not have a cairn.
