Dock Butte — Thursday, Jul. 26, 2018

North Cascades > Mount Baker Area
Today was day three of day hikes while camping at Rasar State Park. Absolutely fantastic views from below and on the summit. There were a few minor sections of snow still on the trail which didn't cause any problems. The bugs were...well they are bugs. Use bug spray. If you are expecting an "easy" hike as it's described, "easy" for some is not "easy" for all. I would consider it easy for the most part due to the overall length of the hike. On the other hand, if you aren't a "hiker" who thought you'd put your walking shoes on, grab a 16.9 oz bottle of water, and a granola bar and waltz up to the summit of Dock Butte, you may be in for a tough go. My 13 year old who "hikes" loved it. My 15 year old nephew who let's just say spends a bit to much time on his tech, thought he was going to literally die.
