The road to the TH is pretty rough and 13miles LONG, so drive slow. Ascend starts right from the beginning, but within an hour, around 2 miles in you will reach the ridge and the view of Mount Baker, Shuksan and meadow with wild flowers is fantastic, Since this is my first time to this trail, I hiked to the end of the trail- to the 2nd knoll, where Baker and Shuksan can be seen together without a knoll in between, see photo#2. Met a couple went even further to the right , closer to Baker.
The trail is kind of dry, especially on the ridge, I had a pole, it was very helpful, especially when coming down the knolls. And the flies, mosquitoes are out, I put on repellents, did not get any bites, but bugs been buzzing around most of the way up and down.

Thanks, I loved your glacier photos from helio trail, wanted to go there, but the ranger said stream crossing could be not safe anymore, have to wait till next year I guess
