This hike was beautiful, the views amazing even for some smoke in the air. Would highly recommend. But! The road up there! I have a AWD high clearance vehicle and decided I could get up there, after all the road is only 7 miles long. It was rough up til the Yellow Aster Butte TH. After that it was worse. It’s only one lane and it’s a steep incline. But I did make. My car is older so I was very careful on the way down. Those “7 miles” took me an hour.
