I took five 11-year olds on this hike today to give them a hard but satisfying hike. This was perfect for them, while still being also enjoyable for me! We took it slow-ish and we hung out at the boulders by Mason Lake for a long time to let them play before heading back to the lot. For those who have read “meadow” in the kid’s hiking book, don’t expect flat meadow with no incline, I made the mistake saying “there will be a flat meadow after this steep part!” Still a little incline that short, tired legs felt :)
The fall colors are still stunning and you couldn’t beat the weather today!
