Granite Mountain — Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018

Snoqualmie Region

Today was absolutely gorgeous and I wanted to get outside and do Granite Mountain. Avalanche danger is fairly low right now and normally Granite Mtn can be tricky in the winter. Weather models are showing 20-30 inches of snow in the Cascades over the next ten days so I know this is a great time to get out.

Snow starts about 1/3 of the way up. Highly recommend bringing microspikes. It was very windy today and much of the boot pack from previous parties was swept away, be aware of this. It was brutally windy on the summit at sunrise and only spent 10-15 mins on top! The entire mountain to myself !!
