My brother and I hiked this trail the day after a snowfall. While certainly slippery in steep places (poles were very useful), it was an enjoyable aspect of the hike, rather than an damper on the fun.
We set the Eagle Scout's cabin as our destination and did the 8.5 mile loop in a little under four hours (including the time spent at the top).
We cleared a couple of branches off of the trail, but everything seemed in decent condition otherwise.
Note: apparently there is lore/legend that stairs found in remote areas should not be climbed, as they may be associated with ritualistic witchcraft. Liberty Lake Regional Park is not remote, but there is a tiny set of wooden stairs. So have fun! :)
