Completed the "official" TMT thru-hike today solo going S to N from Issaquah-Hobart to High Point - including all the new re-routes.
Arrived at High Point trailhead in the dark, parked my car, and then requested an Uber. I'm fairly certain the driver thought I was going to murder him when he showed up to a pitch black parking lot and I was standing there next to my car.
But I did no such thing and he dropped me off at the South TMT trailhead at about 7:30 AM (5 stars! Thx Md!) and I was off. Only about 10 minutes by headlamp before I could see. A little rain here and some cold breeze there but moving kept me warm.
Overall not much to say about the trail. Clear and dry in lots of areas. Muddy and soggy in other areas. Bridges were all slippery. A few blowdowns but nothing difficult. I wore my good waterproof boots, gaiters, and rain gear which of course kept the rain out and the sweat in.
I stopped for lunch at Custer's Bridge which is near the halfway point and cooked up some lasagna for brunch. Yummy!
I only saw 1 other person the entire day on the TMT. Pretty cool. No wildlife to speak of. 15.3 miles and 3340 ft gain according to my tracker. Made it back to my car in about 6 hours total including my lunch stop.
P.S. If you lost your glasses there is a pair on the sign on the east side of Murat's Bridge.
