Trip Report

Skagit Wildlife Area — Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019

Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area

The roads were mostly clear, the sun was shining, and tomorrow it will snow again.  Therefore, it was imperative to get outside today.

I did a short snow hike to Bulson Falls, which was framed nicely with ice.  On the way to the Falls, I found a good looking coyote out in the open.  It took a 1,000mm lens to reach him, but I captured the image.

There were eagles everywhere in the trees and in the air.

Finally, I found a large flock of Snow Geese in a field adjacent to Fir Island Road.  There were thousands of ducks joining them constantly, but the geese paid no attention to them.

It was a good outing with good variety.  The fresh air, sunshine, and exercise felt good.
