Trip Report

East Bank Baker Lake — Sunday, Mar. 24, 2019

North Cascades > North Cascades Highway - Hwy 20

The reports from a week ago mentioned snow/ice after crossing the dam but that has now all melted or been cleared. You can now drive all the way to the trailhead.

We arrived at 10am on a Sunday and there were already a few cars. Most, if not all belonged to overnight campers as we passed them on the way in. Other than that, we didn't see anyone new on the way back. The trail is in great shape with only one downed tree that requires crawling under. We hiked to Maple Grove and had lunch there before turning around. Unfortunately someone had left a smoldering fire on the beach. If only there had been a nearby water source for them to use to put it out!

Total trip was between 9 and 10 miles.
