Only hiked the first part of the trail to the lakes, but it was beautiful and if I’d had more time would have kept going. Looking forward to going again in a few weeks. The trail is in good condition and there are only a few places where water is flooding over the trail and small patches of slippery snow. The first bridge looks scary - it’s rotated about 30 degrees to one side) and is slippery but it’s stable and easy to cross. Saw lots of signs of elk (droppings on the trail) but didn’t see any. As I was driving away I almost hit what looked like a moose cow, but it ran off really fast before I could get a good look. Not crowded. Only saw one family of 8 or 9 who were leaving just as I was getting started.
