Elk Bench — Saturday, Apr. 20, 2019

I was at the Mount St. Helens Science and Learning Center for a NOLS wilderness first aid course. After our training, I explored the area and found this trail. It's a short trail with a moderate incline that takes you for a closer look at Coldwater Lake.

On the hill, there were one or two trees down across the trail but they weren't too difficult to get around. Once down on level found, you come to a junction - go right to head toward the boat launch or left to head toward the Mt. Margaret wilderness area. I went down each junction a little ways. Both take you along the shore and both have muddy sections due to streams crossing the trail.
