This is such a pleasant trail with great views, a nicely graded trail, lots of wildlife, shaded, and options to continue further. Today my friend and I went to the balcony and then carried on to the museum. Along the way we saw flowers, vultures, falcons, hummingbirds, chipmunks, snakes, slugs, and many many millipedes. Dirty Harry's trail is much less popular (or less known?) than Rattlesnake Ledge so consider this an alternative to the throngs of people just a few exits away. There are also lots of rock climbing options along the trail.

Violcia on Dirty Harry's Balcony, Dirty Harry's Museum
Thank you for your report. Thanks to it (and specially your pictures) I hiked to the Balcony today. (Your eagles and flowers did it.) I was always putting this hike away as there are many other trials with similar and better views but I'm so glad I went today! That one large mountainside to the west with alpine flowers is spectacular, isn't it? And there was so many gentians flowering in different spots. Beauty!
