Went on this hike on a Friday evening and had the trail to myself. Trail was in perfect condition with no obstacles. No wildlife (or snakes seen) but I did see some large grasshoppers (?). It was really windy, so the sand was whipping about. The views are just as gorgeous as the last time I was on the hike. The best part is there is absolutely no other human sounds.
It took me about 45 minutes to get to the edge of the first sand dune. I was going pretty quickly I think. From the top of the first dune you can easily see the second dune. I don't think many people continue on but this time I did (it was my first time heading to the second dune).
The trail to the second dune is not as defined as the earlier trail. So you can easily find yourself blazing your own trail. It took me about 15 minutes to get from the second dune to the edge of the first dune. The second dune covers quite a bit more real estate than the first. It's also more picturesque in my opinion.
After spending a good 30 minutes walking around and taking pictures I headed back. I did have difficulty locating the trail back to the first dune but if you head towards the river you should be able to find it. I continued on and moved at a brisk pace to get back to my car.
In all I spent 3 hours on trail.

Wow, these photos are gorgeous. I've never been out to this area but would love to do so sometime. This report is great inspiration!
