Spent a night at Twin Lakes and hiked partway up Winchester Mountain.
The road to Twin Lakes is clear until the saddle. Both parking areas and nearly all campsites are under 1-2 feet of snow. The lakes have a thin sheet of ice but are clear around the banks.
The first third of the Winchester Mountain trail is mostly clear of snow with some patches. Lots of water on the trail though.
There is some route-finding needed through the middle bowl.
We had to turn back at 5900" - the trail is completely snow covered and is on a steep slope. Ice axe, crampons and confidence are required to reach the summit.
The views were still worth the climb though!
