My destination was actually to the lake, not the overlook. The trail was nice and smooth, and obstacle free until you get down to the lake and it was loose, slick, and unstable. Poles were a huge help, and so were hiking boots. A large family came down looking very unprepared, and slid on their butts.
Beautiful lake, and the water wasn't that cold. Glad I got to wad in it during a hot day.
