Trip Report

Sulphur Creek — Saturday, Sep. 21, 2019

North Cascades > Mountain Loop Highway
Sulphur Creek

Left the car in a small pullout opposite the trailhead at 2pm. The unpaved section of the road had some serious potholes, especially up to the turnoff for Green Mountain.

Followed the trail about a mile in, to a nice spot on the river, at a log crossing (leading to ?). Mostly good tread through mossy forest, but there were several blowdowns that have to climbed over (or under).

Didn't see anyone else on this trail.

Thank you for the report and photos! How far from the TH was the red-juice tooth fungus?

There was a patch of them really close to the trailhead; if you click the "Info" icon, you can see the exact coordinates...

Did you find the hot springs?
It is not on the other side of that log bridge.

No, this trip had a different purpose :-)

Would that purpose perhaps start with fun and end with gus?

Eric, thank you again for your report! We hiked the trail yesterday and were surprised how the red-juice fungi in your photo had aged! Perhaps the rain was a factor! There was a log that appeared to have been recently cut before we came to the 2 logs across the trail in one of your photos!
