On Wed afternoon I walked Cowiche Canyon from the west end down to bridge 5 and back.  The trees are nice and yellow, but there aren't as many shrubs right by the trail as there are at the east end, so I didn't think it was quite as good, but still very nice.  Then this afternoon I took a walk at Snow Mtn Ranch.  I walked west on the Gerry Oak Trail as far west as it goes, then followed a game trail further west through the brush to the elk fence and back.  Once back on the main trail I walked east to its junction with the Entry Trail and then down to the Kiosk.  From here I walked the Riparian Trail West out to the elk fence and back with a short side trip to the creek at the Butterfly Garden.  The color is very nice, but will only get better over the next week or so as the oaks and cottonwoods continue to color up.
