Trip Report

Mount Ellinor — Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019

Olympic Peninsula > Hood Canal

Unbelievable hike! It's November, but looking at the road and trail it feels like August, snow free and in great condition. The hike is pretty steep and rocky, but the views are worth it. Bring lots of water, this hike is demanding and you will be exposed for long periods. Restroom at upper trailhead is closed.

Starting from half-way up you will have constant views of Hood Canal and the Cascade range. Today we were able to see Mt St. Helens, Mt Adams, Mt Rainier and Mt Baker. Now many places and days where you can see all the above from the same spot. We were also able to spot Seattle.

If the restroom is closed a forest pass should no longer be needed. Never seen that restroom closed before. Full to the top last year but not closed. Those fees are for that service.
