Hiked up to the top yesterday. Snow starts in the Basin, there were a few patches of snow/ice on the way up, easy to skirt around. We didn’t use our spikes on the way up, but we did on the way down. There are a couple trees down on the trail, but nothing you can’t quickly step over. Beautiful day out there, we only saw 6 other people! And the larches are still lingering. As you approach the talus field, look right as you’re facing the field to see a completely frozen water fall tucked in a corner. The road in after the Buck Creek Junction is particularly awful. We went slow and did fine in a Subaru cross trek, and our friends had a high clearance truck.
