This is an absolutely beautiful river ramble, complete with classic NW features, the many greens of moss on tree and rock, the brown of decaying bigleaf maple leaves on the forest floor, mist floating amoung the hills, mushrooms and the sights and sounds of a mtn river. The road going in should be no problem for any car. The TH is not signed, there is just a wide spot in the switchback bend for parking. The TH kiosk is a bit up the trail. The trail starts high and gradually drops down the the river. Once next to the river, the trail just follows along. There are gradual climbs and drops, again, not hard. Nice camping and lunch spots can be found where the trail drops down next to the river. The only caution for this trail would be the mud and wet leaves making for a slick trail in the downhill spots. There has been another slide before the end of the trail, as mentioned a previous trip reports. It looks like a path has been carved going thru it, but we turned around and decided to eat lunch at the camp spot along the river. It was a special day, as it was Ravennspirit's birthday hike and we had a nice celebration, complete with smoked oysters and cream cheese, birthday napkins, hot coffee topped with whipped cream and a little something from the flask, followed by brownies, also soaked with a bit of the flask leftovers. (and yes, we packed out all trash) We were the only people on the trail all the way in, then 30 people showed up from a meetup group of some sort. Heads Up people it's Wilderness and group size is limited to 12! Also a sad reminder, there was a plaque in memory of a young man who was lost up here last year. This is a reletively easy trail, but don't get careless about water.
