Trip Report

Gazzam Lake Nature Preserve — Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Gazzam Lake

Started from the trailhead on Deerpath Ln NE at 10am. The small parking lot was half full (i.e. 2 cars).

Used this map to follow different trails to the lake and down to the beach, and back. The first two attempts to get a closer look at the lake via (unmarked) trails ended in thickets; a third trail (signed "Lake Access") lead to a bench with views, and access to the water. The beach access trail ended a few feet above the actual beach (or what was left of it at an ~8ft tide); tree trunks helped us climb down.

The trails were otherwise all in excellent condition, double-wide, and well-signed.

Encountered a dozen or so parties, including several on bikes.
