Went on an excellent fall backpacking trip to Observation Peak, forming a loop via Trapper Creek trail. No snow yet, even at 4200 ft, but the night was below freezing (mid 20s). We camped out on the summit, where there's a few nice ledges (but no water at all). Trail is in excellent shape, some decent fall color, and the creeks are running low (so no challenging crossings).
