Took a chance on the weather and headed for Mount Ellinor. The road all the way in was in good shape, with only a little bit of snow. The trail was snow covered from the get go, but didn’t get deep until a half mile in. At this point I put on my micro spikes and gators, the spikes made the hike so much easier but not everyone used them and they seemed to do just fine. There was some post-holing after the first mile in, and it started to get really deep the last 100ft to the top where I was post-holing up to my waist.

Great photos! I’m curious about the snow on the road in - did you park at the upper or lower trailhead?

The road in was fine, it did have a layer of snow starting half way up. I was still able to reach and park at the upper trailhead, driving a Subaru Outback.

No nothing special, I carry chains but didn't need them. The road really wasn't that bad at all
