This short trail makes a lovely, quick stop when exploring along the Mountain Loop Hwy. This was one of many stops we made as we wandered around Darrington on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The Mountain Loop Hwy after the White Chuck Overlook is slick with mud, even our AWD CRV slide around a bit. The MLH is still closed beyond the North Fork Sauk Rd turnoff (as of June 18).
The short, steep trail down to the falls was in much better, safer, condition than it was last time we were here (not too many years ago). The broken stairs have been replaced or removed. It's still steep and slick, especially when it's been raining recently like it was for us. The falls were raging. Well, worth a quick stop.
