Gorgeous hike. In 2 weeks or so the wildflowers will be incredible. We hit snow around 5000 ft, about 3 miles in. It was soft. Not sure if it was just a patch or if it kept going, it was late in the evening and a thunderstorm was rolling in, so we headed back. The road is a bit rough and narrow, a landslide left several large boulders in the road and a washed out area, but it’s doable with high clearance. We did this hike as the Suiattle River Trail (and the forest road past Downey Creek) is closed due to last year’s fire.
