Last three miles to the trailhead are riddled with potholes, recommend high clearance vehicle and drive slowly. Note that you need a NW forest pass here. Trailhead has plenty of parking, started hiking the river loop around 5.30pm. Took two hours. The best part of the trail is the first mile that takes you to the big bridge crossing and probably the last 1.5-2 miles where you cross the river again. The rest is just going along the creek, narrow and bug filled.

We all got severe bug bites (including my dog), lots of cobwebs too. Overall nice hike but don’t think it was really worth the 1.5 hour drive from Leavenworth.
