Hiked to the Sourdough lookout yesterday. My first time there and once you get over how tough this trail is, it is stunning. There is snow and poles and micro spikes are very helpful. The snow is a bit slippery, so spikes were very helpful. Snow starts at around 4500 and it is intermittent until you reach the ridge, which is covered by a lot of snow, Crossing the creek is no problem. Bring lots of water or a filter. This was a brutal hike, but so worth it. Make sure you go all the way to the lookout, the views are spectacular.

Comments
Any difficulty route finding through the upper forest after sourdough camp? We ran into a situation at pilchuck last weekend coming down through the forest where there was no real trail that we would like to avoid.
