Hiked through Cascade Pass and a mile or so up Sahale Arm before turning around. Started three miles from the trailhead around 10am with some parking spots left on the side of the road. Worst part of the hike was the stretch of road, dusty and hot with limited shade albeit some pretty river sightings showing off with a cool breeze. Would bring a gravel bike if you have one to speed up this stretch. Overall, beautiful day with wildflowers and clear views but the flies were atrocious. Definitely bring some sort of repellant if possible, got several bites but moreso just annoying. Roundtrip 15 miles (6 of those on the road) with 3700 ft elevation gain. Once the road is fixed, I’ll be bringing some newbies for the high reward to low effort!
