Unfortunately, Peakbagger.com says: "The North Peak of Guye is the highest point on the mountain and the true summit... All hikers that tag the highest rock point at the end of the path [to the North Peak] should be able to claim full credit for an ascent of Guye peak."
Yikes. Have some humility.
Elevation pedantry aside, the southern summit is very clearly the end point of this one. I did the walk-up from Alpental to the northern point/ summit. Didn't have the skillset or the bravery to continue further. Did this 2x in the past few days, as it makes for a great after work hike.
A lot of people say to go left at the tarn. There is also a route to the right, which you can see in the GPS tracks I've posted below. I think this route is much more fun for the ascent. It's pretty well-traveled and marked by cairns.
Doing this without poles would be like going to the beach without sunscreen.
Gaia links are below for my past two trips. The first track only recorded.1.3k gain due to accidentally closing the app for a section of the way up.
(The WTA description and stats are based on the route from Commonwealth Basin, despite their provided directions to the Alpental trailhead.)

You don't have the skillset or the bravery to do the real summit, but you won't give full credit to those who do... hmmm, it sounds like you need to check the definition of humility lol.

Maybe my report was unclear. I did attain the North summit, which you can see the in the GPS tracks. The North summit is the one that Peakbagger calls the true summit and the one that 95% of the WTA trip reports for Guye describe. I disagree with Peakbagger’s assessment, and would only feel comfortable claiming full credit for this peak if I attained the northern, middle, and southern summits.
Admitting I didn’t reach the South summit due to a lack of courage and skills is humble in my opinion.
The only reason I included the Peakbagger quote is because it struck me as oddly entitled. It also does an injustice to those who have attained all three summits.
