Trip Report

Ebey's Landing — Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022

Puget Sound and Islands > Whidbey Island
Looking Northwest Toward Fort Ebey

We started at the beach trailhead and went northwest along the shoreline. I t was about three hours before high tide and there was lots of room to walk. At the north end of Perego's Lake we took the trail up to the bluff. Since the last time I was here there has been some significant erosion, especially at the first switchback. It is on the upside of the trail and at that point it has made the trail wider, but in other places there is some narrowing making an already narrow tread a bit more tricky.

The wildflowers are pretty well spent but the rare prickly pear cactus is fun to see. Once on the Bluff Trail we completed the loop back to the beach parking lot.
