Mount Rainier Area > SE - Cayuse Pass/Stevens Canyon
My favorite trail co-pilot

This is a definite new favorite of ours! Man,  I feel like I've been saying that a lot lately!  What a perfect trail to wrap up summer! Absolutely beautiful and the wildflowers are still holding on! I think last week or so would have been prime time, but today was a gorgeous day out on the trail!

We were slow going today (Friday)  and arrived at the Tipsoo Lake lot around 1130ish and managed to get a parking spot.

Following WTA's recommendations, go clockwise for the big reveal of Rainier. This hike really has everthing, stunning vista's, lakes, ample stop spots and just enough oomf to feel like you're getting a good little workout in,  but not too strenuous. I was happy with the amount of shade mixed in and we got a gentle summer breeze.

Major bonus- we ran into a WTA Trail Work Party! Lots of volunteers out all across this trail system. My son and I were sure to thank all the volunteers we came across and we deeply, deeply appreciate the hard work that goes into maintaining our trails a Thank you WTA!
