Great day on the trail today. Saw our first coyote? while hiking. Totally cool. Views were great if not a little smokey/hazy. Also saw the regulars -- grouse, squirrels and chipmunks. Plenty of bear scat but no bears. 4 cars at the trailhead when we got there and we saw maybe 12 people total. Hiking on a weekday has its perks. Took a right at the junction with the Northern Loop trail and went the extra half mile to the view point. That was our lunch spot and turnaround spot. A fabulous day on the trail!

Isn't that a great back door route? I did it earlier this summer, minus the coyote. LOL
