Heather - Maple Pass Loop — Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022

Spectacular! Got to the trailhead at 7:15am on a sunny (smoky) Tuesday, 6 cars in the lot. But the news of this amazing trail has gotten out. At the end of my day at 1pm the lot was full and there were approximately 75 cars on the highway. I hiked counter clockwise. The views cannot be beat. Lake Ann is in bloom with fall colors. Larch are looking fabulous, with more to come. Saw some deer tracks, one bear track a little smaller than my hand, lots of goat tracks near the top. Spotted a black bear across the valley, watched it for about 20 minutes. The trail was dusty and the views fantastic. A glorious day.
