Skyline Trail Loop — Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022

If you're going on a weekend - definitely start early! We started the hike about 7 am and there was plenty of parking and only a few other people on the trail. We managed to catch some of the sunrise on part of the hike as well. I'd actually go earlier next time to get the sunrise at Panorama Point.

By the time we were coming back down, it was like a highway on the trail. There was also zero parking in any of the parking lots up at Paradise, and the line to get in was all the way back by the Copper Creek Restaurant (which is 2.5 to 3 miles from the entrance?). Go early to avoid crowds and get a parking spot! 

The trail itself was in great condition and is so beautiful. It's paved at the beginning. Fall colors are right at the beginning, too! It starts out steep and then levels out before getting steep again. 

We saw a marmot taking in the view, and met a lot of lovely people from out of state. Make sure to bring sunblock as a lot of this trail is in the sun. Also, the bathroom up by Panorama Point is closed now.
