Trip Report

Lake Ingalls — Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022

Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway
View of trail/ridge on south side of lake

Party of three 65+ women.  Got to parking lot at 8:45, nabbed a last spot, then started hike shortly after 9.  Got back to car around 4:30.  Over 9 miles round trip taking the upper ridge trail (vs lower campsite trail) after Ingalls Pass.  Larches are in full glory this week!  We saw a herd of 7-8 goats on the way, up fairly high, and were treated on the way back to a mom and her kid closer to the trail down the same slope.  The only marring of a gorgeous day was hearing the sound of a drone as we clambered over the final ridge to the lake…we did say something so the thoughtless idiot -and he just flew it to another location…hopefully not bothering the goats and other wildlife. Drones are forbidden in wilderness areas or national parks, but I’m thinking enforcement can only be via other hikers.

Amazing you got to see those goats. Wow. The larches look pretty great too. Looks like it was a good hike day for you and your friends!
