The road to the trail head is clear and has been plowed. There are still some small snow patches on the road but nothing difficult. Parking had about 8 inches of snow so I would suggest that you have a minimum of 4wd.
The trail is snow covered the whole way. Nobody has hiked the trail in a while, so we were relying on GPS to navigate to the Lake. We were able to use spikes all the way up to the lake. There was about 8 inches of snow on the ground, but it was soft.
