We got to the gate at around 10:30 with a ton of parking available. The road in was totally fine, no snow or ice to deal with. The trail today was snow the entire route, it was super firm so there wasn’t any issues with postholing. Spikes worked great but you could manage with just boots if you wanted, no snowshoes needed right now. Navigation is easy, just take a right when you see the Big Four sign and turn right when you see the trailhead sign. We saw a few people go down and stand right by the edge of the cave, do what you want but just know you’re under a giant avalanche chute, I’m not sure it’s safe even if you don’t go in the cave. Cheers!
