Hamlin Park — Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Durable trails throughout the open park

Hiked for the first time and made an easy 1.5-mile figure 8 that took us about 45 minutes and covered most of the park. We were concerned due to the recent rain, but the trails in this park are very durable and therefore great (not too muddy) when it's wet. There are innumerable trails that cut in every direction, but we were able to mostly do a loop just by picking the most well-traveled of them. That said, using our Gaia app on our phone was helpful for a first timer, but the open forest allows for easy navigation nonetheless, and worst-case you can hike out to a street as there are also numerous connections to the streets on all sides.

We parked at the NW corner of the park in a residential neighborhood on NE165th; lots of parking and trails that start at nearly every spot made access excellent.
