We hiked the loop on a gorgeous, sunlit, exceptionally clear Sunday. By all standards, this is special even if you've been there before: 270 degree view of sea, two mountain ranges (snow-covered yesterday) and 3 big volcanoes.
The trail was muddy in places. We were glad that we had our hiking poles.
Parking was at a premium- but with a lot of turnover.
