Got out for Good Friday and am glad we chose a short one given how much snow is left. The road to the trailhead is in really bad shape, but it's short. We scraped bottom once in a small SUV, so I don't think I'd want to do it in anything with less clearance.
The trail itself was a river today with all the recent rainfall. I'd say nearly half of the trail is just running water. It wasn't terribly deep, but you're going to get wet. About half a mile from the lake, the snow starts. For a while it is compact, but it eventually starts getting pretty deep and hard to follow the trail. We postholed for maybe 1/4 mile, including some wrong turns on the final ascent. Hopefully following our tracks will make it a little easier.
If you have snowshoes, they'd make the final quarter mile a lot more pleasant. I don't think traction would help much right now since everything was so wet. A fun hike despite the pouring rain and postholing!
